Greens Closed
NOTICE from BERWICK BOWLING CLUB BOARD OF MANAGEMENT
AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD
CORONAVIRUS: UPDATE ISSUED 25th MARCH 2020
This terrible situation is changing by the hour and even after issuing our Notice yesterday, we now have another important change.
BOWLS AUSTRALIA have advised the following
“The Australian Federal Government has advised that all organised sporting events and all social sporting activities must cease, including all forms for social bowls, from midnight tonight (March 25, 2020)”
Accordingly, the Board of Management advises that commencing mid night tonight,
OUR GREENS are closed for all forms of play.
This is in addition to our previous instruction that the Club house will not be open except for those members who have keys to the clubhouse and are required to undertake any essential work inside the clubhouse.
Whilst this may be disappointing for some, and we did endeavour to make our greens available for a roll up as an encouragement for members to keep active and maintain some form of contact with other members, this latest instruction is perfectly understandable, and is not negotiable.
Hopefully with everyone co-operating we will get on top of this insidious disease and we will all be able to get back on the green sooner rather than later.
In the meantime, please exercise extreme compliance with the published health and safety measures. Stop the spread, stay 1.5 metres away from others, wash your hands regularly, avoid touching your face and if sick, stay home. Better still stay home unless you absolutely have no other option. Above all, look after each other and stay well.
We wish everyone all the very best in these most trying circumstances and we will keep you informed of any changes to these requirements.
Trevor Fry
Chairman Board of Management
