ERBR Competition Schedule is Postponed

We have received the following advice from the ERBR Secretary this afternoon

A draft schedule for the Region’s Championship events has been in circulation for some time, with certain Clubs approached to host events.

With COVID-19 Stage 4 restrictions in place across Metropolitan Melbourne since early August 2020, and, notwithstanding yesterday’s announcement around the relaxing of some of these restrictions, it is clear that the sport of Bowls will not recommence any time soon.

The draft Championship schedule has a number of events with entries closing during the month of October and the competitions due to commence in November – namely, Over 60s Singles and Pairs, Triples and Fours.

In the current environment, the Championship Committee has decided to postpone the running of these events until such time as the playing of competition bowls is permitted.  Clubs are asked to advise their members of this delay.

In the meantime, the Championship Committee will review the schedule of events and a revised schedule will be published as more information becomes available.

The Committee apologises for any inconvenience and disappointment caused as a result of this approach.
