Pennant, Saturday

Saturday Pennant Round 14 wrap

Round 14 of Saturday Pennant was played yesterday, and conditions were very hot.

Of the 8 sides competing only 3 were victorious this round.

Congratulations to the 3rd, 4th, and 6th sides on their  victories.

The 3’s grabbed a two rink win over Cranbourne to move 21 points clear of 5th placed Pakenham, and with a good opportunity for another win next week.

The 4’s are in 3rd spot on the ladder, 26 points clear, after a tights clean sweep win over 4th placed Ashburton.

The 6’s bounced back with a 3 rink win away at Mulgrave Country Club. The 16 points, coupled with Dandenong Club’s loss puts the 6’s back into top spot by 7 points.

Unfortunately though the other results were not so good for the Wickers.

  • The 1’s got two rinks up at home, but going down by 7 Shots
  • The 2’s got one rink up away at Beaumaris but stay in 4th spot by 11 points
  • The 5’s got 2 rinks up but swapped spots with Parkdale, slipping to 3rd spot.
  • The 8’s got one rink up at home to remain in 7th spot
  • The 9’s got 3 points and drop back to 6th on the ladder

The winningest rink with +18 shots, from Side 6 was the team of:
