Board of Management Chairman's Report
Dear members we are about to commence a new season of bowls with our hopes high that we will again be a successful club. More importantly, we must make sure we enjoy our bowls and the company of our fellow bowlers.
Your new board is proving very compatible and very prepared to make decisions on your behalf.
The board has decided that it is not appropriate at this time to replace green No. 2 and has deferred a decision for 12 months during which time we shall have a better view of the quality and performance of green No. 3. The board has also decided that we must seriously look at replacing all or part of the club house carpet. It is in a disgraceful condition and is a poor advertisement for the club to visitors. We have also had prospective hall hires decline because of the state of the carpet.
The board is concerned at the lack of communication between various committees and the board. We need to know your present needs and your future requirements in order to complete our budgets. The constitution clearly sets out the responsibilities of the various committees and in order to assist each committee as to what is required of them, the board secretary will write to each committee including an extract from the constitution. We need your monthly reports.
I wish you all good bowling for 2008/2009.
